The
Purpose
of
the
Council
of
Northwest
Chapters
1.
This
council
is
organized
exclusively
for
charitable,
genealogical,
educational,
cultural
and
historical
purposes.
2.
Assist
and
promote
activities
and
events
of
the
northwest
chapters
of
AHSGR
and
bring
together
those
interested
in
the
history
of
Germans
from
Russia.
3.
Increase
unity,
fellowship,
youth
activities
and
membership
in
northwest
chapters
as
well
as
public
awareness
of
the
existence
of
AHSGR.
4.
Assist
all
concerned
to
discover,
search
out
and
collect
material
relating
to
the
history
of
Germans
from
Russia,
their
migrations,
settlement
and
development
in
the
Americas
and
other
continents.
5.
The
council
will
support
AHSGR
efforts
in
the
collection
of
material,
such
as
histories,
genealogies,
biographies,
directories,
catalogs,
programs,
and
manuscripts,
as
well
as
letters,
diaries,
journals
and
reminiscences;
also
museum
material
such
as
pictures,
artifacts
and
material
objects,
illustrative
of
life,
conditions,
events
and
activities
of
the
past
and
present
of
Germans
from
Russia.
The
Council
of
Northwest
Chapters
meets
twice
yearly,
spring
and
fall,
at
various
sites
in
Washington
or
Oregon,
with
a
Conference
held
every
18
months.
The
Council
consists
of
nine
Chapters,
the
newest
of
which
is
the
Victoria
Chapter.
The
Directors
are
the
President
of
each
Chapter
and
one
delegate.
