What's Your Story?

With its family gatherings, the holiday season is the perfect time to learn about, share and reflect on your heritage. Take some time to talk about who you are and how you came to be here. If you’re part of the younger set, ask your uncles, aunts, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents about their -- and your -- heritage. And if you’re from an older generation, take some time to share with the younger ones. If you’re comfortable with it, be sure to capture some video or at least audio of your conversations. If not, assign a note-taker.

We posted a couple of suggested questions last week. Here are two more:

1.     What kind of work did your mother’s (father’s) parents do?

2.     Has your mother (father) shared any stories they knew about their parents’ childhoods? What are they?

Let the conversation flow from there, and continue to watch our website and Facebook pages for more "What's Your Story" tips during the holiday season and throughout 2019.
